A-Level Results Day 2026: Your Hour-by-Hour Plan for August 13 (Pakistan Edition)
8/10/2026
Picture this: it is 12:07 PM on Thursday, August 13. You are sitting at home in Lahore — or Karachi, or Islamabad, or Dhaka. Your phone is in your hand. Your UCAS Track page is open. And the moment you have been dreading and dreaming about for the past two years is finally here.
Whether your grades land exactly where you hoped or somewhere completely unexpected, the students who have a plan before results day are always in a better position than those who improvise in real time. This guide gives you that plan — hour by hour, from right now until Thursday afternoon.
What Time Do A-Level Results Come Out in Pakistan?
A-Level results for the 2026 sitting are released on Thursday, August 13, 2026 at 8:00 AM BST (British Summer Time). For students in Pakistan, that translates to 12:00 noon PKT — because the UK is on British Summer Time (UTC+1) in August, four hours behind Pakistan.
This matters more than you might think. Many Pakistani students wait for their school coordinator to call them with their results — and that call often does not come until 3:00 PM or 4:00 PM PKT. By that point, the most critical window for contacting admissions offices has already narrowed. You can check your own results directly on UCAS Track the moment they go live at 12:00 noon PKT. You do not need to wait for anyone.
If you applied to UK universities through UCAS, you already have a UCAS login. If you cannot remember your login details, reset them today — before Thursday — so you are not locked out when it matters.
The 3 Days Before Results — What to Do Right Now (August 10–12)
The next 72 hours are not wasted waiting. They are preparation time, and the students who use them well arrive on Thursday with a clear head and a clear plan.
Today (August 10 — 3 days out): Log into UCAS Track and confirm your login works. Write down the full names of your Firm and Insurance universities and save their admissions phone numbers in your phone. University websites go slow on results day — having the number saved in advance is not optional.
August 11 — 2 days out: Check your university email account (most UK universities give you a student email address upon accepting your offer). Some admissions teams send a pre-results message in this window — read it carefully. Then make one key decision in advance: if you miss your Firm offer by one grade, what is your plan? Call admissions directly? Activate your Insurance? Explore Clearing? Deciding now means you will not freeze on Thursday morning.
August 12 — the evening before: Download the UCAS app if you have not already. Set an alarm for 11:45 AM PKT for Thursday. Get a full night of sleep. Do not spend the evening messaging friends asking what they think happened — that energy is better spent tomorrow.
The Morning of Results — Your Hour-by-Hour Plan
Here is exactly what to do when Thursday arrives.
- 11:45 AM PKT: Open your device. Have your UCAS login ready.
- 12:00 noon PKT: Log into UCAS Track and check your application status.
- 12:00–12:30 PM PKT: Read your status carefully. Each status means something specific — see below.
- 12:30–2:30 PM PKT: Take the right action for your situation (detailed below).
- Before 6:00 PM PKT (2:00 PM UK): If you need to call an admissions office, this is the window. UK offices close at 5:00 PM BST (9:00 PM PKT).
Understanding Your UCAS Status — What Each One Means
When you log into UCAS Track on results day, you will see one of these statuses. Here is what each one means and what to do immediately.
Unconditional Firm (UF): Your Firm university has confirmed your place regardless of grades. You are in. Take a screenshot, email the admissions team to confirm your CAS request, and celebrate. No action needed today.
Conditional Firm (CF — still updating): Your Firm university is processing your results. This is completely normal — universities process in batches. Most offers are confirmed within 2 to 4 hours of results release. Check again at 3:00 PM PKT.
Conditional Insurance (CI): Your Firm offer has not been confirmed, and your Insurance offer may now be active. Check both carefully. Your Insurance university may also need time to process.
In Clearing: Your conditional offer was not met and your Insurance did not activate. You will see a Clearing number appear in your UCAS account. This does not mean it is over — read the next section immediately.
If Your Results Were Not What You Expected
This is the section most Pakistani students do not prepare for — and it is the most important one.
Missed your Firm offer by one grade? Call the admissions office directly. Universities have discretion. A student who needed AAB and received ABB can still be confirmed if the overall application profile is strong. Your personal statement, references, and school record all still count. This call must happen on results day, ideally before 6:00 PM PKT (2:00 PM UK time). When you call, say: "I have my A-Level results. I am calling to ask whether you are able to confirm my conditional offer despite a small shortfall."
In Clearing? You are eligible to apply to any UK university that has vacancies. A Clearing number appears in your UCAS Track account — this is your access code. You can call from Pakistan. You can call multiple universities. When you call, say: "I have my A-Level results and a Clearing number. I am calling to ask about vacancies in [course name] for international students."
One critical correction for Pakistani students: Clearing is not limited to UK domestic applicants. If you applied through UCAS, you are eligible. This is one of the most common misconceptions among Pakistani students, and it costs people real opportunities every year.

Common Mistakes Pakistani Students Make on Results Day
- Waiting for their school to call before checking UCAS. This loses 2 to 3 critical hours. Check UCAS Track yourself at 12:00 noon PKT.
- Not knowing their UCAS login. Reset it today — not on Thursday morning.
- Assuming Clearing is only for UK domestic students. It is not. Pakistani UCAS applicants are fully eligible.
- Not having university admissions phone numbers saved. University websites slow down significantly on results day. Save the number in your phone today.
- Telling parents the result before taking action. Thirty minutes of family discussion before calling admissions can cost you your place. Act first, celebrate after.
- Assuming a missed grade automatically means rejection. Universities have discretion. Not calling is the only guaranteed outcome — it is always worth asking.
What Happens After Your Place Is Confirmed
If your university confirms your place on results day, the next step is your CAS — the Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies. This is a 14-character code issued by your university that you need to apply for a UK Student Visa. Most universities issue CAS within 2 to 4 weeks of results day.
Once your CAS arrives, the visa application process begins. From Pakistan, the full process — application, biometrics at VFS Global, and decision — takes approximately 3 to 5 weeks. Do not book flights before you have a visa decision.

Frequently Asked Questions About A-Level Results Day 2026
What time do A-Level results come out in Pakistan time?
A-Level results are released at 8:00 AM BST on August 13, 2026. In Pakistan Standard Time, that is 12:00 noon PKT (the UK is on British Summer Time, four hours behind Pakistan). You can check your results on UCAS Track the moment they go live — you do not need to wait for your school to contact you.
Can Pakistani students use UCAS Clearing?
Yes. If you applied to UK universities through UCAS, you are eligible for Clearing regardless of your country of origin. A Clearing number will appear in your UCAS Track account if your conditional offers were not confirmed. You can call UK universities from Pakistan during their office hours (9:00 AM to 5:00 PM BST, which is 1:00 PM to 9:00 PM PKT).
What does "Conditional Firm" mean on results day — should I be worried?
No. "Conditional Firm" on results day simply means your university is still processing. Universities confirm offers in batches, and most students see their status update within 2 to 4 hours. If your status has not changed by 5:00 PM PKT, call the admissions office directly to confirm.
I missed my offer by one grade. Is there anything I can do?
Yes — call the admissions office on results day before 6:00 PM PKT (2:00 PM UK time). Many universities will still confirm an offer for a student who missed by one grade, particularly if the rest of the application was strong. Asking is always worth it; not asking is a guaranteed no.
How soon after results day will I receive my CAS?
Most universities issue CAS within 2 to 4 weeks of confirming your place. Some may take until late August or early September. If you do not receive CAS by mid-August and your course starts in September, you should chase the university's International Admissions team directly. See our CAS guide for the exact email template to use.
Whatever Thursday Brings, You Have Options
Results day is one of the most emotionally charged moments of a student's life — and one of the most action-oriented. The students who do well on results day are not always the ones with the best grades. They are the ones who know what to do in the first three hours.
Whether Thursday brings relief, surprise, or a path you were not expecting — you have options. We have guided students through every outcome, and we have never once seen a motivated student run out of roads.
